Cinema Privacy Policy

Updated September 28, 2026. Cinema is provided by Pause Inc. Contact support@pluvio.tech with privacy questions.

Local use and optional accounts

You can use Cinema with your own compatible connection without creating a Cinema account. Local connections, favorites and viewing progress stay on your device unless you enable cloud sync or export them. Provider requests go directly to your configured provider.

Cloud sign-in uses your selected identity provider to identify your Cinema account. Google and Apple sign-ins that verify the same email address are linked to the same Cinema account and library. Apple Hide My Email uses a separate address and can create a separate account. Google provides your name, email and profile picture; Apple can provide your name and email, including a private relay address if you choose Hide My Email. Cinema does not request Gmail, contacts, Google Drive or access to your Apple purchases through these login providers.

Cloud sync

When enabled, sync stores your account identifiers, saved connections (including provider credentials and device identifiers), My List and viewing progress on Vercel and Neon. Library records are encrypted before database storage; the Cinema service can decrypt them to deliver them to your authenticated devices. Login tokens are encrypted in the authentication database. Encryption does not make this information anonymous.

Playback, artwork and subtitles

Playback contacts your chosen provider or media host, which receives your network address and the stream request. Metadata, artwork, sports and online subtitle lookups contact their respective services and may include title, episode, search and technical request information. These features use services including TVmaze, Apple artwork search, sports data providers and Wyzie/subtitle sources. Those services handle requests under their own policies. Do not enter provider credentials into a subtitle search.

Casting sends the selected media URL and playback commands to your chosen AirPlay or Chromecast receiver on the local network. Compatibility conversion can run on your Mac. Google Cast may process technical diagnostics; Cinema disables its optional analytics logging. Notification permission is optional and used for new-episode alerts.

Purpose and retention

We use this information to authenticate you, synchronize your library, deliver the features you request and keep the service secure. Cinema does not use your library for advertising. Hosting and authentication systems may retain network addresses and security/error logs for operation and abuse prevention. Synced library and account records remain until you delete them or your account. Provider and infrastructure retention practices also apply.

Sign out and delete your account

Signing out stops sync on that device but does not delete the cloud account. In versions with account deletion, open Settings → Account → Delete account and confirm. You may need to sign out and sign in again first to confirm your identity. Deletion removes the cloud account, synced library and sessions and revokes the connected login provider authorization. Local libraries on devices and your App Store purchase are retained. You can remove local connections separately. Older versions can be updated to access this control; contact us if you cannot access your account.

Deleted records may remain temporarily in infrastructure backups until those backups expire; they are not available through the app. We may retain information where required by law.

Your choices

Use the app locally, sign out of sync, remove saved items/connections, deny notifications or local-network permission, or delete your cloud account. Denying local-network access affects casting but not ordinary local playback. Contact us for help accessing, correcting or deleting your information.
